multi-level

Yeah, so we knew this was coming, but still.
Laithe can now climb the stairs with the best of them.
This weekend John put him on the bottom step and he climbed all the way to the top with no prompting. He's pretty thrilled with himself.

We use a wall mounted gate at the top of the stairs and just a pressure mounted one at the bottom. The cats are pretty irritated about all of this. I try and leave the pressure mounted one as just more of a visual barrier with about a 5 inch gap on one side. That didn't so much work today. Laithe crammed his body into that 5 inches and started climbing. Luckily he was pretty vocal about his endeavor. I don't know what we're going to do about the gates. Well, that's not really true at all. We're going to keep working with Laithe on how to get back down the stairs. Guthrie had mastered the stairs by about 19 months - so on Laithe-time he should be good in a couple of weeks and we can just be done with the gate phase. kidding. geez. mostly.

This kid and his physical development has been just crazy.

You are probably right - by his birthday! I think he is thinking if he tries hard enough that pretty soon he can be older than Gus!
